Here is CC Moore consultant Gaz Fareham with a cracking 29lb mirror which he caught along with 9 other fish during a recent 5 night trip to Belgium. (image and tag: “29lb of ‘old school’ mirror”)
Grabbing some rare time off between teaching and working on his soon to be released ‘Subsurface’ journal, Gaz fished three different venues to catch his fish and managed to experience the great diversity offered by waters on the continent.
These waters included a public park lake where he not only found himself surrounded by swimmers, pedaloes, cyclists, model boats, windsurfers, and dogs but also had to contend with water fountains and even some 3am skinny dippers! The other venues were a vast canal spot outside a chemical factory and a small secluded public gravel pit in the midst of a forest, which was a good 30 minute walk from anywhere.
All Gaz’s fish were caught using Odyssey XXX with added Robin Red boilies over either matching cork ball pop ups soaked in Salmon Oil or his new prototype Northern Special NS1 Cork Ball Pop Ups which are currently under development at CC Moore.
Amongst his tally of fish, he also managed to land this 40lb 10oz Grass Carp using the same bait and tactics.

More details of his captures will follow in Gaz’s forthcoming Subsurface Journal project which is due out this Autumn.
Well done Gaz.
